Group Lesson Descriptions
- Beginner
Ages 3-5 yrs | Ratio 1:3
Introduction to the water. Working on child’s basic swim skills; bubbles, face in the water, front/back floats assisted, kicking, some water entries.
The goal of class is to have child comfortable in the water, having fun, and going under. - Beginner 2
Ages 3-5 yrs | Ratio 1:3
Child is comfortable going under & blowing bubbles, but still can’t float on own. Continue to work on going under water, works on front/back floats unassisted, water entries, kicking.
The goal of class is continue to make child comfortable in the water moving towards being unassisted. - Level 1 Swimmer
Ages 4-8 yrs | Ratio 1:4
Child is comfortable going under water & can float front/back on own. Child is not quite at the point of taking their own breath to continue swimming. We continue to work on going under, doing bobs, front/back floats and glides on their own, kicking.
The goal is to start the idea of head lifting for breath, and performing roll overs. - Level 2 Swimmer
Ages 4-8 yrs | Ratio 1:4
Child is starting to get own breath, but still not comfortable on their own. We continue to pick head up for breath, rollovers.
The goal is to start on big arms and kicking on back. - Level 3 Swimmer
Ages 4-8 yrs | Ratio 1:6
Child has start to big arms and is breathing on their own. We will continue to work on big arms and start side breathing. The group will work on kicking on the back and possibly introduce arms on back. - Level 4 Swimmer
Ages 5-8 yrs | Ratio 1:6
Child is comfortable in the water on their own and is doing big arms. The child is comfortable on their back. We continue to work on big arms and side breathing.
Our goal is to put more emphasis on backstroke and introducing dolphin kick.
