About RRC

Rafael Racquet Club is a family-friendly swim and tennis club located in the sunny hills of San Rafael. We pride ourselves on giving our members something more than just a place to play tennis or swim laps; we give our members an escape from the everyday.

Kids are an integral part of our “everyday” and we strive to create learn and play opportunities for RRC youth throughout the year.

The Club is open year-round, and we are committed to offering events, programs and classes throughout the year for those interested.

RRC’s members come largely from within 2 miles of our location (San Anselmo, San Rafael, Ross and Kentfield), but we also have a large group of San Francisco families escaping the summer fog.

We are dedicated to family recreation.

Club History

Family swim and tennis since 1961

The construction of RRC broke ground in 1959, and was finished on May 10, 1961. The opening day of RRC included an exhibition tennis match featuring Jack Kramer and his world professional tennis troupe and an Ann Curtis and her “AnnTeeks” Synchronized Swimming display.

The Club was originally built as a community pool (privately owned) for the newly built Racquet Club Estates. In 1975, the Club was purchased by its members and has since been operated as a member-owned Club.

RRC has always been true to its beginnings as a tennis and swim facility that aims to be a meeting place for friends and family, and is special to its members for its warm and welcoming environment.
